One of my New Year's resolutions – to take my camera with me as often as possible – has been easy to follow since I have an iphone. Looking at the world with an eye towards seeing and recording little visual elements is what I'm striving for, and bunnies keep popping up in the strangest places.
The white rabbit photo was taken last year on my Valentine's Day walk in Ballard with Bob - the iron bunny was nestled in the leaves and grass on a curb strip. I think it was deliberately placed – because who would just leave such a wonderful object? I wanted to snatch it, but captured it on my camera instead.
The painted bunny iphone photo was taken in Portland - off of MLK, I think. Robin (my sister-in-law) and I had just been to Bolt, an awesome fabric store (yes, I bought fabric - another addiction) and were on our way back to the car. I turned the corner and saw this artwork. Isn't it great? Quietly waiting to be noticed.
I'm using photos in new collages and will show them as soon as my digital SLR comes back from the shop (the USB function isn't working). Until then I'll keep hunting for rabbits and feeling a bit like Alice, but I'll look out for holes!
