Flowers . . . summer is for day dreaming

this clematis in our garden had never bloomed before . . .
the flowers were the size of dinner plates

Summer changes my rhythms. The long slow days, the smells and sounds through open windows, the absence of the school year regime totally gets me off track. Work is farthest from my mind, even when many projects await me. Flowers beckon and my mind goes wandering. It's a truly delightful time . . .

peonies in our garden - they never last long enough

a bouquet from Trader Joe's, such a deal for $6

beautiful, fragrant roses from our friend's garden
we couldn't bear to throw them out until . . .

. . . gentle breezes scatted the petals throughout the living room

  1. For my biology class we have to plant and care for a plant, I picked a Nasturtium flower. Does anyone know how long it will take for it to sprout?
