all wrapped up
Along with three of my SDA Washington pals I'm working on a fiber proposal to celebrate the Space Needle's first 50 years. Today, at my studio, we spent a few hours creating a mixed-media chain as part of our project. Several other local SDA artists added to our chain link stash – which we then connected and photographed. Fortunately the sun was shining, so we took the chain outdoors for its "photo shoot."

my partners in chain construction

Barb contributed these hand-dyed silk-wrapped links

luckily trains rarely frequent this section of track
Keep your fingers crossed that our offering makes it through the first round judging. We had a blast working together and want to involve lots of people in the Seattle fiber community, schools and neighborhood groups in our project.

That is so cool! Are they all made of fibers? I love art that gets outside.
