Patterns enrich this world of ours

cupcake game (the little balls are BBs) and card

From January with no work into February where jobs are falling into my lap, the beginning of 2011 has been crazy. 600 favors for a new hospital opening went out the door at the end of the month along with my annual Valentine "thank you" gift to clients (pictured above).

Life is beginning to settle down and I spent this past Saturday with my pal (and sister-in-law) Robin, window shopping and taking photos. I'm working on several sewn pieces for a show in Portland next month and am on the hunt for great backgrounds. As per usual, patterns, both natural and contrived, caught my eye.

the best view ever

The weather's about to turn again, but for the last few days it's been cold and sunny. Glorious. With a west-facing studio, the late afternoon sun streams through my windows and warms the cockles of my heart. It got so sunny today that I had to lower the blinds . . .
