Shame on me! Pay attention, please . . .

dancer - artist unknown (by me)

The de Young Museum at Golden Gate Park is full of amazing art treasures. Spending 3+hours there two weeks ago sent me into visual overload. Photography was allowed in the majority of exhibits, so I went nuts. Unfortunately I neglected to note most of the artists' names. Shame on me! I promise to do better from now on, because while the work does speak for itself, the maker's identity matters as well.

took many photos of this piece, artist unknown (by me)

Edward Hopper
have always loved his work

Wayne Thiebaud
I'm now the owner of a book about his work

Al Farrow
we were all fascinated by this work,
which is made entirely of bullets, shells and gun parts

Every picture tells a story, don't it?

we had to step over this sweet little mouse on the path at Kenzo vineyards

When I download camera images to "Mighty Mac on the go" (special thanks the genius bar at Apple for replacing my laptop's logic board in one day) I'm often surprised by the final photos, even though I've seen them on the digital readout. While I do have general ideas of the images, the details that come to light on the computer screen remind me of what drew my attention in the first place. I know the memory resides somewhere in swirls and whirls of my brain, but it's sure nice to see the picture and remember the moment.

Took a trip, got totally inspired!

one can never display too many lanterns

Escaping from Seattle's fall rains led us to San Francisco this past weekend. The weather was glorious and for four days we (my sweetheart, brother and sister-in-law) soaked up a little of what this lovely city has to offer.

A zip-car sojourn to Napa valley vineyards (Round Pond & Kenzo), two museum visits (de Young, and SFMoMA) and a Sunday morning stroll through China Town are only a few of the highlights. Both my iPhone and Olympus cameras got good workouts. The sooner I can return to "The City by the Bay" the better.

these caught my eye the minute we passed through the China Town gate
